The publishing imprint of Edmond A Porter
Redwood Vail Press is the small independent imprint under which author Edmond A Porter publishes his work. It exists to give Edmond's books a consistent publishing identity, a clear point of contact, and the editorial and production standards he wants attached to his name.
The imprint is based in Utah and operates as a single-author press at launch.
What the imprint publishes
Redwood Vail Press focuses on writing rooted in the American West — historical fiction grounded in real events and real geography, rural memoir, and short-form essays and poetry drawn from a working life on the land.
The editorial sensibility favors:
- Place over plot device. Settings researched closely enough that locals recognize the ground.
- Restraint over spectacle. Quiet stakes, slow burns, human-scale consequences.
- History treated as ground, not backdrop. When real events appear, the facts are honored before the story bends them.

Turbulent Waters — Forthcoming, June 1, 2026
A historical fiction romance set against the 1976 Teton Dam collapse in eastern Idaho. Jake Ford works as an assistant engineer on the dam; Anna Stone fights its construction to protect the Yellowstone Cutthroat trout downstream. The river brings them together. The flood tears their worlds apart.
Release day is June 1, 2026 — four days before the 50th anniversary of the breach. Available for Kindle pre-order now; signed print copies will be sold in person at the Flood 50 commemoration in Rexburg, Idaho. See the Teton Dam Flood page for event details.
Turbulent Waters is the imprint's launch title.
